WT001 - BEHOND THE RED LIGHT DISTRICT

Forget all museums, entertainment venues, and even the well-but-not-so-famed Red Light District, Amsterdam is itself a museum packed with crooked buildings, bridges, narrow and winding streets, pretty markets, and where the water has the main role. With its many canals and bridges, the city is pretty much everywhere walkable, making it seem really simple and compact. Even so, the bicycle is the main transportation for locals and tourists but be careful, there are "crazy" and speedy drivers that come unexpectedly your way. Boat trips are also an option to wander around and can be booked often in some stations or through an identified agent.

The crossing to the latest viewpoint of the city, called A'DAM Lookout, can be done via a local transit boat departing from the main station, which costs nothing. There you can decide to pay your way up and have the promised panorama and as a funny feature, you can likewise pay for a swing ride at the top floor.

All over the city you will definitely find the best Dutch delicacy – cheese – which has so many variants, from Wasabi to Mustard taste, that it is impossible not to try it all.
