WHERE THE BIGGEST WAVES ARE

The new famous location in Portugal's seafront - Nazaré is since the 1st of November 2011 the trendy spot for surfers all around the world. On that day something unthinkable happened and the Hawaiian surfer Garrett McNamara surfed a 23,8m wave during the ZON North Canyon Show in a beach called Praia do Norte, setting on that year a World Guinness record. Since then, many others have been trying to accomplish the same and somehow set a new world record. Praia do Norte is perhaps the most incredible phenomenon, in terms of giant waves, of the World. Two days before this post, there was talking of a new record, not official, of a 35m wave surfed by the Portuguese Hugo Vau. As for me, I think I was a bit unlucky on the day I went, because only 5m waves (already impressive) were there for show.

Tip: check the weather and waves report beforehand.
