THE ISLAND: FROM A TO B AND BACK

When in Croatia, you will be amazed by the quantity of islands there. One of them, easily reachable by ferry or private boat, is popular between tourists and a nice place to spend a weekend exploring or simply resting. Depending on which city you wish to visit, you can take a ferry from Split directly to Stari Grad and then drive to Hvar, the most famous city. Or, like me, rent a car and take the ferry from Drvenik to Sucuraj (the opposite town from Hvar) and then drive for about 2 hours from one point of the island to the other. Taking this route allows you to explore more and find some small towns which sometimes are not overly crowded and have a beauty of its own, like Vrboska. This old town made mostly of stone houses, has a small boat dock, awesome restaurants, nameless beaches close by and a perfect location close to Stari Grad, in case you wish to avoid a night in Hvar.
