IT FEELS LIKE I TRAVELED BACK IN TIME

The Kiso Valley Trail is a 8km long route that connects the towns Magome and Tsumago and takes about 2-3 hours to finish by foot. It is located in my favourite country - Japan - and you can reached it by taking the train from Nagoya, more or less one hour away, to Nakatsugawa or Nagiso and then by bus. It's easier to start in Magome (bus from Nakatsugawa main station) because the trail involves less uphill walking. The well maintained track runs along the Kiso Valley and is well marked in both English and Japanese. Throughout the way, you'll be amazed with the landscape, the wide rice pads, some waterfalls and the little houses, where people still live and do business.

Note: be careful with snakes.
