HOW ABOUT GIVING NIS A CHANCE?

Most Balkan cities are far away from the idea to be described as touristic, but I think the times and trends are changing and more and more people are searching for alternative holiday destinations. This has probably something to do with the recent airlines, low cost carriers or not, that are entering the market every other month. Ryanair, for example, explores new routes throughout Europe and tries to take advantage of un-touristic cities with available airports. And this is how I ended up in Nis! While searching for cheap flights in still unexplored locations. But not everything was by chance, I already wanted to put my feet in the Balkans and Ryanair only facilitated this. So why not give Nis a chance? The city itself is small and easy for a day-trip. Walk along the the Nisava River and around the center, visit the fortress and the open fields / ruins behind it, try the markets and the coffee shops located in a perpendicular street to the main shopping street.
