FISCHBRÖTCHEN

My short stop in Wismar was more than enough to get an idea about its premises and lifestyle. Pretty buildings and a pleasant town square where the weekly market opens doors. The Wasserkunst in the middle of the square is considered the landmark of the town and looks like a well-fountain-kind-of-monument. The town is so small and cosy that somehow I found myself passing by more than two times in the same place. The best of course, and everyone should try this in a coastal city in Germany, are the Fischbrötchen, or fish buns in english. I know it sounds weird, but it is quite tasty (nonetheless I prefer the ones with fried fish). Close to the Alten Hafen building, you'll find many boats selling this speciality.
