TOKYO - AROUND ODAIBA

Sadly my last day in this amazing city and the weather was not on my side. Well, it was warm enough to enjoy the beach but not quite enough to swim. The Odaiba is a large artificial island in Tokyo Bay,  where the waterfront is accessible, and not blocked by industry and harbour areas. Reachable through the Rainbow Bridge and by taking the train, it was initially built for defensive purposes in the 1850s, dramatically expanded during the late 20th century as a seaport district, and has developed since the 1990s as a major commercial, residential and leisure area. The train ride is an awesome one, for some reason it feels like a rollercoaster that allows you to see Tokyo from different perspectives. On site, you'll have space to walk around, as far as the Tokyo's Bay Ferry Terminal. On your way there's the building of Fuji's TV Station with a small replica of the Liberty's Statue in front, and the DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, a shopping mall with a full size model of Gundam at the entrance. The neighbourhood is compact, something surprising for Tokyo, but fine for a half-day-trip.
