FOR MURASAKI

A short stop in name of one of favourite storytellers - Murasaki Shikibu. I grew up reading books and many stories about Japan, which somehow fed the idea of someday crossing the world and go there. Murasaki Shikibu and the Tale of Genji is a classic of the Japanese literature written in the early years of the 11th-century. Sadly the original manuscript no longer exists and only in the early 20th-century was translated into modern Japanese. The Ishiyamadera Temple is easily accessible by train, one hour drive from Kyoto, and is located in Otsu between the end of Lake Biwa and the Seta River.
