A MAGICAL PLACE

Montreux is until now the most magical place I've ever visited. Its incredibly beauty put its on my top 10 for winter weekend escapes. Located in the Lake Geneva and on the opposite side from Geneva, it takes about 1 hour by train from there. Famed for its castle - Château de Chillon - which is definitely worth a visit, and its landscape, the city does not have that many points of interest. To reach the castle you can do it by bus, which runs every 10min, or by train until the Veytaux station. I'll say it again, the landscape is breathtaking! To better enjoy it, you can walk the riverside promenade, like me, until the main city area which will take you about 40min. Already by the Casino, you'll notice that the city has another quite interesting experience to offer. The Freddie Mercury Statue and the Queen Studio Experience were for me totally unexpected. Actually I had no clue that the singer of the famous rock band Queen had settled in and recorded his last album at his Montreux Studio. Not that bad I'd say!
