WT016 - SMALL FOUND PARADISE

After India and the visit of its many chaotic cities, we decided not to waste any time in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and take the "crazy" bus Nº2 - connection Colombo-Matara - directly to a place called Balapitiya, about 80km south from the capital. We stayed at Sheen Home Stay, recommended by a German friend - @fillyroundtheworld - we made in Varanasi, and life couldn't be better. We had booked a night and as soon as we arrived we decided to stay for another. The place belongs to an ex-air force pilot - Harrisson - and his wife and, besides being extremely friendly, they will take care of you like family. The house is quite big and has a full round garden, as well as, a terrace connected to the main room. We stayed exactly in that one, not because we booked it but because the homestay was empty at the time we arrived and they offered us the best room for the same price as the standard double bed room. About a 2 min walk is the beach and even though is not a private one, it sure looks like it. We had it just for ourselves for hours, with the exception of two fishermen that came out to greet us. The paradise on this island.

The next city Adurangoda is reachable with the bus N.2 or any other local bus running in its direction. Here you go to the market and buy really fresh fish.
