About a 3 hour ride from Lisbon, capital of Portugal, the Serra da Estrela mountain offers ski lovers and families the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon break in the highest mountain range in Continental Portugal. Snow, some beautiful white sceneries during the winter season, and different observation points of the towns below, like Covilhã, can be easily found throughout the itinerary upwards. At the summit of 1993m (highest point) there is a ski resort and a dome of an old radar station.
