WELL SPIRITED SPLIT

Split has the most amazing food, ancient but well-preserved architecture and friendly locals. Starting at the Chapel of the Holy Arnir and the Bell Tower you will walk into a world of tiny alleyways and secret courtyards. Totally different from Dubrovnik, which is so crowded that it is impossible to visit, Split still maintains a good flare while embracing tourism. Close to the Bell Tower and in direction of the Kinoteka Golden Gate, a street market with handmade products and souvenirs brings both locals and tourists to the same place. A bit further, you'll meet the iconic square of the Dioclatian's Palace featuring ancient columns, medieval buildings and the entrance to the San Domino Cathedral and its bell tower. The Sphinx in Front of the Peristil, another monument, can also be found there. A really cool thing about this courtyard is totally hidden from the eyes. You have to follow the square until the end and below there's a secret passage where all types of merchandising can be bought. On the other side, just by-passing the Brass Gate of Diocletian's Palace, there's a waterfront promenade and Split's Marina full with typical touristic restaurants and cafés and where a sunset viewing is more than recommended. Going back through the Republic Square, a fine u-shaped red building, and just on the other side is the fish market, opened everyday until 2pm. Don't miss this opportunity if you wish to cook and eat some fresh fish or seafood. As well as to once again go back into the main city and loose yourself in its crazy gangways.

Tip: Restaurant FIFE Split.
